Born in Tokyo, Japan, Masako was educated at Joshibijutsu University of Visual Art and after completing her studies, she travelled around
Europe from 1973 - 1977. During this time she studied and exhibited in Spain and London before coming to Australia in 1977.
OIl on canvas has always been a familiar medium, and has allowed Masako to release her ideas and passion.
Recently Masako has begun studying the art of sculpture with Stephen Coburn and has exhibited several works to the Mosman Art Society.
Next Exhibiton:
"Depends on the weather' is a traveling body of work created by local Sydney artist Helen Cameron. Helen teams abstract emotions with an impassioned raw mark making technique to create what she calls her personal 'weather' and 'mood' maps. These in turn, explore the notion of human emotion and the weather and how these can reflect each other.
The 'Mood Map' qualities of each work resemble Helen's personal interpretation of energy and the emotion reflected by the weather and everyday experiences.
Each artwork symbolises a moment in time captured with strokes of paint and pencil. By using vibrant pastels and her signature "scribbles", Helen feels that more emotion is shown and illuminated.
Showing: 28th May - 24th June 2012
